RAZ Art Counselor in Training (CIT) Program
(ages 12-16)

CALLING ALL CREATIVE TEENS - Express Your Creativity & Become a Leader!

Do you have a creative teenager who loves to make hands-on projects and enjoys helping younger kids?

 

RAZ offers a unique Counselor-In-Training (CIT) program for teens, ages 12-16! Future counselors learn the RAZ method and gain project-oriented art skills while building confidence, leadership, and communication skills. We emphasize teamwork, responsibility, and everyone’s unique creativity.

The purpose of the CIT Program is to train future RAZ counselors in our unique approach. Those who complete the CIT program are eligible to work in our camps, after-school program, and birthday parties.

 

The CIT Program has three levels, Blue, Green, and Red. The level your teen will start at depends on their age and experience. Learn about the RBG levels and which fits your teen below.

 

Blue Level: Ages 12-13. CITs pay half of the regular camp price. Starting level if your teen has never participated in our camps or classes before. They will make their own art as well as help others. 

Benefits and Experience:

  • Be in a creative environment

  • Make their own art projects

  • Help younger children

  • Participate in trips both as a camper and assistant

  • Learn art skills and techniques

  • Learn to assist counselors and teachers

 

Green Level: Ages 13-15. CITs don't have to pay for camp, but are not yet getting paid. Your teen must have taken at least one of our core classes and have some experience in our studio and working with children.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively help counselors and children

  • Assist teacher’s instructions

  • If there is opportunity, they will make their own art projects

  • Participate in trips as an assistant to both counselors and children

  • Gifted $25 a week in various gift cards 

 

Red Level: Ages 14-16. CITs get paid $100-200 a week, depending on experience and skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively help counselors and children

  • Independently give children instructions on projects

  • If there is opportunity, they will make their own art projects

  • Participate in trips as an assistant to both counselors and children

  • Contribute their creative ideas for developing art projects for camp

Once the applicant is accepted to the CIT program, we will schedule an orientation date.
